Located on the original site of Shakespeare's Curtain Theatre, The Stage is a £750m mixed-used development spread over 2.5 acres. It will be home to 33,000 sq ft of retail and 250,000 sq ft of office space, an international heritage centre and a 37-storey residential tower. Upon completion the remains of the original theatre will be preserved in situ within the international heritage centre as a visitor attraction. Due to the importance of this archaeological site, the detailed excavation work has been carried out prior to building work commencing. Workstream Engineering Services has been involved with this project for over a year, with our engineers carrying out surveying, engineering and drainage tracing works. In the latter stages we have been carrying out high definition laser scanning and producing 3D models of the historical walls and other features uncovered by the archaeological team at MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology).
