Roca London Gallery

From Workstream Pulse, Autumn 2014

The award winning Roca London Gallery, designed by world famous architect Zaha Hadid, has successfully transformed what was once an ordinary retail space into a breathtaking new dimension in interiors. Spanish sanitaryware manufacturer Roca wanted a London showroom that would impress a design-savvy audience that would include anyone and everyone from architects to students. Zaha Hadid fulfilled her brief with a spectacular and highly influential 1,000-square-metre space in the heart of London's Chelsea Harbour inspired by elemental water in all its forms. In Ms Hadid's own words, the Roca London Gallery "acts as a transformer moving, without interruption, through the fa├žade, carving the interior and flowing through the main gallery as drops of water".

Workstream was asked by interior fit-out specialist Sherlock Interiors Contracting to supply skilled site operatives for this new benchmark for design and innovation in retail space. The company ultimately delivered a range of personnel including carpenters, handymen, ceiling fixers painters, and labourers.
