The Lexicon, London

From Workstream Pulse, Autumn 2014

Workstream is currently supplying curtain walling and logistics teams to Yuanda and Hartlepool-based firm CDM Façades for work on a new development at 261 City Road called the Lexicon, near London's "Silicon Roundabout" at Old Street. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill – creator of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai – the Lexicon is a 36-storey, mixed-use development comprising 307 apartments, 785 square metres of mixed-use commercial space, 54 basement car parking spaces as well and a private residents' spa and lounge. The scheme has a gross development value of £160 million and is due for practical completion in summer 2016.

Workstream's involvement in the Lexicon follows the successful completion of work for the same clients – Yuanda and CDM Façades – earlier this year at Barratt Homes' Great West Quarter scheme at Ealing road, Brentford.
