Capital Towers

From Workstream Pulse, Autumn 2015

Workstream's London Docklands recruitment team is supplying carpenters to Salisbury Glass Centre, which is working on Galliard Homes' new landmark Capital Towers project at Stratford, east London. Capital Towers is one of the capital's newest residential developments, consisting of 191 apartments situated in the heart of its largest metropolitan regeneration programme, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Located in the southern end of Stratford's main thoroughfare just north of where it connects to Bow Road, the project is split between two towers: City West Tower that will stand to the south of the site and rise to 14 floors, and the 34-storey Sky View Tower on the northern side, which will rise to a little over 100 metres tall, a significant increase on the original plans.

A unique feature of the Capital Towers project will be the communal roof garden on the fourth level that creates a skybridge between the two towers, with the faƧade wrapping around them providing contrast with the lighter cladding that frames the floor to ceiling glazing. As well as this outside space, there will be a residents' lounge in each tower, and the area at ground level will offer a "natural environment" next to the canal. The first residents are expected to move in during 2016.

Workstream has already played a substantial part in the regeneration of the Stratford district. The company supplied site personnel in huge numbers to the Olympic Park in the run-up to the 2012 Games, and to the nearby Westfield Shopping Town development.
