Blavatnik School of Government

From Workstream Pulse, Autumn 2015

The recruitment team at Workstream's Bicester head office has supplied AC Flooring with carpenters to work on Laing O'Rourke's Blavatnik School of Government project in Oxford. The 6-storey building will house a faculty aiming to provide training for future world leaders.

Designed by Swiss architectural firm Herzog and de Meuron and funded by Russian American billionaire Leonard Blavatnik, the new school is being built on Walton Street next to St Paul's church in the Radcliffe Observatory quarter, which has been masterplanned by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly.

The building is expected to accomodate up to 550 people, including students, staff, faculty and visitors. It will have two lecture theatres seating 80 and 120 people, as well as flexible seminar space that can host up to 200 people for special events.
