25 Cabot Square, Canary Wharf

One of two major office blocks at Canary Wharf occupied by global investment bank Morgan Stanley, 25 Cabot Square is an 81-metre high, 17-storey building with 41,666 square metres of floor space. Morgan Stanley bought the building in 1993 but sold it last year for £223 million on a 15-year leaseback deal to multinational real estate investment company Hines Global REIT.

International construction services firm ISG was commissioned to manage the revamping and refurbishment of several floors at 25 Cabot Square with work to be undertaken in several phases by day and night to enable Morgan Stanley staff to continue working without disruption.

The recruitment team at Workstream's London Docklands office has been supplying operatives to the project since October last year, working under the supervision both of ISG's site management and specialist structural alteration and renovation subcontractor Nelsam. In that time, Workstream has supplied Nelsam with bricklayers, plasterers and handymen, as well as general and skilled labourers. Based in Hockley in Essex, Nelsam provides services for the full range of commercial buildings across London and the south east. Its contract at 25 Cabot Square involves the soft strip of eight floors of office space with work expected to continue well into the year.
